Target Audience: This activity is designed for cleft surgeons and practitioners including dentists and speech and language pathologists.

Activity Goal: The 2019 Comprehensive Cleft Care Workshop team is dedicated to making first-class cleft care accessible to all patients regardless of geographic or socioeconomic barriers, by providing high-quality comprehensive educational activities for cleft practitioners.

Learner Objectives/Outcomes: At the conclusion of the activity, learners will be able to:

  • Evaluate patients with cleft lip and/or palate in a comprehensive team-based manner and determine best treatment and care plans, including surgical approaches.
  • Evaluate dental and speech comorbidities that are frequently encountered patients with cleft lip and/or palate in a comprehensive manner and determine best treatment and care plans.
  • Implement surgical skills acquired in surgical simulation sessions during future cleft lip and/or palate surgery.
  • Implement hands-on skills acquired in dental and speech therapy simulation sessions when caring for patients with cleft lip and/or palate.

Requirements for Successful Completion:
To receive CE credit, participants must sign-in, attend the activity and complete and submit the activity evaluation provided in syllabus materials. Partial credit will be awarded for attending one or more presentations. Certificates/statements of credit will be emailed within 4-6 weeks after the activity.
